Finance Assistant

Pembury, Kent • Part Time. Fixed-term Contract

We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a fast-growing company for an initial period of 6 months. The Finance Assistant will support the Finance Manager to ensure smooth, accurate and timely processing of financial transactions in Sage with accurate reporting output. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Part Time hours ~0.4 FTE (approx. 15 hours / week spread over 3-4 days). Hybrid of home / office working

Primary Responsibilities

Processing accounts payables, preparing payment runs and supplier liaison
Monthly billing and cash receipt management
Processing bank transactions and preparing monthly bank reconciliations
Managing cashflow reporting
Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
Maintenance of workflow information systems
Assist Finance Manager with monthly control account reconciliations, payroll verification, and quarterly budget forecasts
Ad-hoc holiday cover

Key Attributes

Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially in Microsoft Excel
Accounting software experience (ideally Sage)
Excellent organisation and time-management
Great attention to detail
Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads and urgent requests

Qualifications / Experience

Finance and administration experience in a similar role highly desirable
Working knowledge of Sage Accounting or similar advantageous
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills

Salary & Benefits

FTE equivalent of approx. £22-25,000 depending on experience
25 days holiday (pro-rata)
Hybrid working allowing working from home and office following induction and training
