As we mentioned in last week’s blog, this week we bring you the latest instalment of our team activities, bowling!
This week was our IE Christmas Party, and having been inspired by last week’s Christmas Jumper day some of the team turned up in their best pom-pom and twinkly lights adorned jumpers. I think it is official, even the humbugs of the office have been converted to the Christmas spirit.
As usual, everyone’s competitive streak came out when bowling, least of all Director, Helen Marsh, who despite a football injury and being on crutches was determined to bowl a few rounds before succumbing to the childrens’ bowling ramp. After a couple of rounds it was clear there wasn’t going to be much of a competition as most of us were just trying to get any pins down at all. However, credit goes to Andrew Finnegan who was by far the better bowler (some of the team are putting together a conspiracy theory on how Andrew used to bowl professionally).
Back at the office Secret Santa gifts were exchanged, with one gift having the most creative use of wrapping paper I have seen, to wrap a rake! We followed this excitement with a Christmas Quiz where we found out that we have a few team members who are (not so) secret fans of 1970s Christmas classic hit singles.
The festive celebrations were rounded off with a delicious dinner. The team definitely made a good job of eating, drinking and being merry! There were even some roast potatoes that rivalled our best efforts, and reminded us of one of our first blogs of 2016, ‘How do you get the perfect roast potato?’
We hope you have all enjoyed similar team celebrations this holiday season, any stories you’d like to share, we would love to hear!
See you in 2017.
